Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with desk leaders and editors across newsrooms and collaborate with Live and Audience teams to lead the global report day to day and plan ahead.
  • •Elevate effective headlines and clear writing across the entire report, handling edits including first edits and write-throughs.
  • •Lead and inspire a team of direct reports, including editors and reporters, and champion the best ways to tell stories through creative formats.
  • •Push strong promotion of stories on the homepage and other core Times platforms, and identify and respond quickly to breaking news.
  • •Assign edits, monitor copy flow to the print hub on deadline, anticipate coverage needs, and assist the weekend editor with the weekend report.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of experience writing and editing news and enterprise copy, including headlines and captions and other display/social copy formats.
