  • •Contact policyholders and conduct investigations by interviewing insureds/witnesses, inspecting damage, and preparing estimates.
  • •Evaluate coverage and claim value, maintain adequate reserves, obtain/review required reports and records, and determine payments (issue checks or decline).

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma (or equivalent) required for Property Adjuster Trainee; other levels require additional claims-handling experience and/or a bachelor’s degree.
  • •Two years of claims handling experience (or equivalent) required for Property Adjuster I (or successful completion of ERIE sponsored formal education).
  • •Five years of claims handling experience (or equivalent) required for Property Adjuster II (or bachelor’s degree plus two years of claims handling).
  • •Physical ability to climb onto roofs and lift/climb ladders; willingness to work in inclement weather and undesirable indoor environments.
  • •Valid driver’s license and good driving record; willingness to pursue Technical Learning Center training and obtain/maintain required licenses.
