Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage an own caseload using an in-house case management system, maintaining accurate records and billing/reporting information.
  • •Review, assess, and negotiate end-of-life costs claimed, drafting points of dispute and responding to replies.
  • •Achieve daily chargeable hour targets, manage workload to meet service level agreements and critical dates, and meet performance targets.
  • •Review files to set strategy, identify strengths and weaknesses, prepare documents and cost strategy reports, and complete periodic client-required file reviews.
  • •Provide written and verbal client updates and handle correspondence and telephone calls; draft and/or oppose applications and instruct counsel as needed for detailed assessment (or conduct own advocacy).

Key Requirements

  • •Experience negotiating costs, including preparing points of dispute and considering replies through to PA/DA.
  • •Experience handling an own caseload while meeting service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client liaison and client updates.
  • •Good telephone negotiation skills and ability to plan, prioritise, and make decisions under pressure.
  • •3 GCSEs grade C or above (including maths and English); desirable degree and/or LPC and/or ALCD and experience conducting own advocacy.
