Job Summary

Lead daily Quality Control Lab operations and field-testing efforts to ensure asphalt, concrete, and aggregate materials meet required safety, performance, and compliance specifications. Supervise and train lab technicians, oversee lab testing and mix design submissions, and conduct field work such as core sampling and density testing (nuclear gauge). Manage material certifications, advise supervisors on test results, maintain accurate documentation, and serve as the main technical contact for DOT and agencies.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise daily lab activities, including technician training and equipment/supply requisition.
•Oversee and conduct lab testing on asphalt, concrete, and aggregates to meet required specifications.
•Design and submit mix designs for asphalt, concrete, and aggregates.
•Perform field testing including core sampling and density testing (nuclear gauge).
•Handle material certifications, advise supervisors on test results and deficiencies, and maintain accurate documentation and communication.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with 4+ years in Quality Control.

•Comfort using lab equipment, nuclear gauges, and working in both lab and field settings.
•Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
