Job Summary

Perform high-level technical work with little or no instruction to test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify avionics electronic equipment in an FAA-regulated environment. Work on products returned from airlines, dealers, airframes, and end users, using approved documentation and Collins Aerospace workmanship standards. Conduct technical analysis, troubleshoot to component level, solder fine pitch/SMD components, and manage time effectively while following safety-sensitive FAA drug/alcohol testing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Service, repair, and modify avionics equipment under general supervision.
•Perform testing and maintenance tasks including servicing and operating avionics equipment.
•Conduct technical analysis of products, modifications, and enhancements to meet customer requirements using approved documentation.
•Solder fine pitch and SMD components to support repairs and modifications.
•Troubleshoot technical problems down to component level and manage time effectively (including ability to lift 25+ pounds and stand for extended periods).

Key Requirements

•Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

•Electronics trade school or military training equivalent for repairing electronics (preferred).
•Prior component-level troubleshooting and prior soldering experience (preferred).
