Key Responsibilities

  • •Create and modify 3D models and detailed structural steel design drawings using Smart 3D, including equipment layout and pipe support design.
  • •Maintain and check Smart 3D models for accuracy, manufacturability, and interferences.
  • •Build relationships for knowledge transfer and ensure design deliverables are clear for customers and manufacturing sites.
  • •Review detailed design drawings created by others and customer specifications; align scope of supply during project bidding.
  • •Act as lead Structural Designer through project execution and participate in model review meetings and occasional plant visits/field repair trips.

Key Requirements

  • •Associate degree in Mechanical Design Technology, Drafting, or a related technical field with at least 5 years of structural design experience, or 7 years of structural design experience in lieu of a degree.
  • •Demonstrated CAD drafting and 3D modeling proficiency, preferably using Hexagon Smart 3D (S3D) plant design software.
  • •Strong working knowledge of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ASTM standards, AWS welding codes, and other applicable international standards.
  • •Extensive experience in structural design, including detailed design of structural connections.
  • •Ability to interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
