Key Responsibilities

  • •Interpret plans and perform independent technical assignments to inspect and monitor roadway and bridge construction activities.
  • •Verify construction work conforms to contract documents, specifications, plans, standard plans, permits, policies, and procedures.
  • •Perform materials testing using hand tools, gauges, and/or instruments in accordance with FDOT requirements and scope of services.
  • •Maintain detailed, accurate records including Daily Work Reports and documentation supporting roadway contractor payments.
  • •Monitor and inspect Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control and environmental permits compliance, and take corrective measures when deficiencies are identified.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • •4 years of relevant construction inspection experience, including at least 2 years of CEI inspection experience on road and bridge projects.
  • •Knowledge of road and bridge construction concepts, terminology, inspection principles, and field inspection practices.
  • •Familiarity with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • •Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written), work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain safety and detail-focused performance.
