Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist experienced engineers with the preparation of design drawings, plans, and supporting documentation using CAD and related tools.
  • •Support the development and delivery of traffic engineering, highways, and active travel schemes from concept through to detailed design.
  • •Help collect, analyse, and interpret traffic and transport data to support engineering decisions.
  • •Assist with highway, street, and traffic engineering design, including signage and road markings, and support traffic management and traffic signal design activities.
  • •Participate in site visits, surveys, and inspections, and help produce technical reports, calculations, and presentation materials while maintaining project records.

Key Requirements

  • •Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
  • •Have three A-Levels (or equivalent, such as a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering), including Mathematics and a physical science at grade C or above where required for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
  • •Show interest in traffic, transport, or civil engineering and a desire to build a career in the industry.
  • •Demonstrate aptitude for technical software, engineering design and drawing, with interest in tools such as AutoCAD or 3D modelling software.
  • •Have basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with strong attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills.
