Job Summary

Support the Methods team in optimizing and standardizing the AFP (Automated Fiber Placement) manufacturing process for the A220 rear fuselage. Work on material characterization tests (tack/pelage), thermal modeling, drapability mapping, and time/handling parameters to ensure fiber properties. Synthesize results and communicate project milestones while developing technical expertise in composite production within a team of 10 and under light supervision.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute and validate tack/pelage tests to measure delamination force and confirm drapability of resin lots before machine mounting.
•Participate in developing a thermal heating law for the AFP process.
•Perform flat material draping trials to map drapability (steering) behavior.
•Define minimum thawing times and maximum ambient exposure times to maintain fiber properties.
•Compile and report findings, and communicate progress against project milestones.

Key Requirements

•Currently preparing a Bac+3 to Bac+5 degree (engineering or technician profile) in production, composite materials, general engineering, or aerospace.
•Strong autonomy to run tests with reduced supervision.
•Ability to propose ideas and apply strong analysis and synthesis skills.
•Team spirit and willingness to integrate with the Methods department.
•Ability to assist with understanding and standardizing resin behavior and process parameters.
