Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead Network Aviation’s Safety Management System (SMS) and act as the CASA-approved Safety Manager for the airline’s AOC.
  • •Accountable for safety, health, and environmental risk across the operation through effective governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • •Lead a team of safety professionals and partner with operational leaders to maintain robust assurance activities.
  • •Shape operational decision-making and foster a safety-first culture across Network Aviation, QantasLink, and the broader Qantas Group.
  • •Maintain systems, processes, and reporting of safety performance, risk, and assurance outcomes to executive leadership and board-level committees.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years’ experience in safety or safety-related roles, including 5+ years leading a safety function in a complex, regulated, multi-site operation.
  • •Experience holding, or acting in support of, a CASA regulatory post-holder role with strong knowledge of Part 119 Safety Manager requirements.
  • •Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Aviation, Business, or a related discipline.
  • •Proven success leading leaders, teams, and operating budgets across multi-site operations.
  • •Deep expertise in safety management systems, risk management, compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
