Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead structural engineering design work for building design projects, including taking responsibility for structural calculations.
  • •Undertake structural analysis and design using computer and hand techniques, and contribute to independent technical review.
  • •Develop technically sound structural design solutions in coordination with other disciplines, ensuring work is checked and conforms to standards.
  • •Organize and lead teams to execute scoped projects on time and within budget, including support for MOD and defence-related projects.
  • •Apply value engineering and quality/environment considerations throughout project delivery, and use BIM and integrated project delivery practices where relevant.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive experience delivering structural engineering design projects, including structural analysis and design.
  • •High understanding of structural analysis packages and commercially available design/finite element software (e.g., Tekla Building Designer, Tedds, SCIA).
  • •Knowledge of governing structural design standards including Eurocodes, BS, and Building Regulations.
  • •Ability to interpret computer analysis results into practical engineering solutions and decide reliance/accuracy on outputs.
  • •Ability to mentor other staff; communication skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to use CAD/Revit (advantageous).
