Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare design drawings, plans, and supporting documentation using CAD and other design software.
  • •Support traffic engineering, highways, and active travel schemes from concept through detailed design.
  • •Collect, analyse, and interpret traffic and transport data to inform design work.
  • •Assist with highway/street traffic engineering design, including signage and road markings, and support traffic management and signal design activities.
  • •Contribute to technical reports, calculations, presentation materials, project records, and general project administration.

Key Requirements

  • •A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
  • •Three A-Levels (or equivalent, such as a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering), including Mathematics and a physical science at grade C or above, where required for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
  • •Interest in traffic, transport, or civil engineering and a desire to build a career in the industry.
  • •Aptitude for technical software and engineering design/drawing, with interest in tools such as AutoCAD or 3D modelling software.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
