Job Summary

Lead delivery of multi-disciplinary environmental projects within WSP’s Environmental Project Management team, working alongside Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep work safe, on track, and within budget. Support proposal development, build and maintain project documentation (plans, forecasts, risk registers, schedules), monitor progress, manage day-to-day costs, and coordinate multi-disciplinary stakeholders while championing sustainability and net zero outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the development of project proposals by defining requirements, scope, resourcing, programme and budget for successful delivery.
•Create and maintain project documentation including project plans, cost forecasts, risk registers and schedules, owning smaller projects and supporting Senior Project Managers on larger work.
•Monitor progress to keep projects on track, driving delivery against agreed timelines.
•Manage project costs day-to-day, tracking time, budgets, forecasts and spend aligned with progress.
•Ensure health and safety requirements are in place for site visits, and support contract management and administration activities; proactively manage change and risk.

Key Requirements

•Experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in a project or PMO environment within environmental or sustainability sectors.
•Understanding of programme management principles including work breakdown structures, dependencies and critical path, interpreting outputs from MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar.
•Commercial awareness to manage budgets, track performance, support change control, and deliver projects within budget; familiarity with NEC3/4 is advantageous.
•Confident written and verbal communicator who keeps project teams and stakeholders well informed.
•Working towards or holding membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS), with chartership/progression welcomed.
