Key Responsibilities

  • •Install and maintain auxiliary equipment required by production.
  • •Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
  • •Assist and train other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds.
  • •Collaborate with other departments to resolve proactive problems and manage small equipment upgrade projects.
  • •Perform duties in support of Sonoco quality and safety policies while maintaining a safe, clean, organized work area.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  • •Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial and motor controls.
  • •Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • •Comfortable with overtime.
  • •Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks on rotating off-shifts that require overtime, including weekends.
