Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in a mobile/field environment for a range of truck and trailer equipment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical and electrical/braking/cooling/HVAC-related systems using test instruments and inspections.
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to identify malfunctions, road test vehicles, and use judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including reconciliation and obtaining parts from approved vendors.
  • •Complete DOT forms and Repair Orders (RO) documentation, upload required photos, and operate in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as a related degree/certification or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • •Be able to successfully complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • •Have a current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining (or be required to complete a DOT physical if it has four months or less validity).
