Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technology strategy, architecture, engineering delivery, and future evolution of USAA’s telematics ecosystem.
  • •Lead and manage application development activities, including securing the application portfolio, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with legal/privacy/confidentiality requirements.
  • •Establish management routines and oversight for software development and maintenance, ensuring adherence to SDLC and applicable controls.
  • •Serve as financial steward: manage budgets/forecasting, evaluate and select vendors, and oversee vendor performance via Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM).
  • •Collaborate across IT and business partners to align application development strategy with business strategy while reducing technical debt and mentoring teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/I.S. (or related) OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • •10+ years of general IT management competencies.
  • •4+ years of people leadership experience building and developing high-performing teams.
  • •Strong technical background in web-based application architecture, system/database architecture, security application integration, and object-oriented languages.
  • •Experience across the full SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, implementation) and communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
