Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee all HR functions for the County, ensuring compliance with HR requirements and employment law.
  • •Maintain personnel files and manage confidential drug and alcohol testing administration and recordkeeping in HRIS.
  • •Lead recruitment and hiring processes, including interviews, background checks, pre-employment drug testing, and new employee orientation.
  • •Administer benefits and wage programs, including offboarding from benefit systems and preparing annual estimates for the Board of Commissioners.
  • •Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary/termination support, and manage labor negotiations and workers’ compensation injury prevention and follow-up initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field plus a minimum of eight (8) years of Human Resource Management experience (or equivalent education/experience).
  • •HRCI or SHRM certification desired.
  • •Must possess a valid Montana driver’s license and be an insurable driver.
  • •Must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
  • •Proven ability to analyze and resolve personnel management problems and negotiate/resolve conflicts effectively.
