Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards.
  • •Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
  • •Safely load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles, including hands-on freight handling and outdoor work.
  • •Move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck while keeping equipment clean and operational.
  • •Deliver vehicles accurately and on time and represent CarMax professionally with vendors, store associates, and the public.

Key Requirements

  • •21+ years of age with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • •Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state.
  • •2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (military tactical vehicle experience considered) or 2+ years of CMV driving experience at CarMax.
  • •Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years and ability to meet CarMax Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
  • •Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and climb, bend, and kneel to secure vehicles; comfortable working outdoors in inclement weather.
