Key Responsibilities

  • •Guide engineering design, estimating, and analysis of electric transmission and substation protection systems in support of capital construction budgets, including settings, testing, and commissioning
  • •Develop and coordinate the system protection platform across AVANGRID and with global affiliates, including integration, settings, networking, and equipment specifications
  • •Oversee engineering studies to evaluate equipment and protection system performance and operational issues, and apply engineering judgment to solve complex problems
  • •Provide expertise in transmission fault event analysis with clear fault reports and recommended corrective actions
  • •Represent the company on regional and national committees and lead the technical development of the Protection Engineering group

Salary: USD 111,332 - 145,800 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; Master’s Degree preferred; Professional engineering license preferred
  • •Minimum 7+ years of technical experience in protection engineering or related field
  • •Expert knowledge of engineering design, standards, and compliance for power system protection
  • •Strong ability to guide design, analysis, testing, and commissioning of protection systems; experience with capital construction budgets
  • •Knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment (local, state, federal) as it relates to protection engineering
