Key Responsibilities

  • •Patrol and monitor an assigned roadway segment using an AECOM-provided vehicle.
  • •Detect incidents and disruptions in traffic and clear obstructions and debris from the roadway.
  • •Establish temporary traffic control for emergency responders and provide scene assistance.
  • •Assist motorists with roadside services such as tire changes, jump starts, fuel, water for overheating radiators, phone access to tow/recovery, and directions.
  • •Support reversible roadway and high-occupancy vehicle/tunnel operations to ensure safe lane change functions.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or 1 year of relevant work experience in lieu of education.
  • •Be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
  • •Ability to drive a provided vehicle and physically work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable conditions.
  • •Pass state and federal criminal history/security background checks, including Virginia DOT fingerprint-based CHRC.
  • •Pass a pre-employment drug screen and complete mandatory random drug screening; maintain satisfactory driving record with monthly MVR monitoring.
