Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide day-to-day delivery of concept studies/strategies and transport planning work (Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Parking Studies, Access Studies, Movement and Access Studies), including leading planning applications and post-permission condition discharge.
  • •Manage and lead collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues, and staff to support high service provision and client satisfaction.
  • •Maintain effective client relationships and raise WSP’s profile through networking and attending conferences while staying current on relevant standards and policies.
  • •Support high-profile client engagement, stakeholder management, design team liaison, and project management activities.
  • •Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements; guide and support technical staff as appropriate.

Key Requirements

  • •A numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related subject.
  • •Significant experience delivering transport planning projects across development planning, scheme delivery, sustainable transport and active travel, including junction design (priority, roundabout, signals) and relevant standards.
  • •A working knowledge of junction modelling software, e.g., Junctions 9 (PICADY & ARCADY) and Linsig, with experience to mentor others and interpret results.
  • •Experience acting as a lead client contact and building strong client and co-professional relationships.
  • •Postgraduate experience and nearing Chartership (or equivalent commercial experience and responsibility).
