Job Summary

Build and evolve GitLab’s AI Events trigger system that connects code pushes, issues/merge requests, CI/CD results, deployments, and third-party events (Jira, Jenkins, Slack) to Duo Flows. You’ll work in the Rails monolith to design for high availability and throughput at scale, influence product/architecture direction, collaborate with product and design, and participate in Tier 2/3 on-call rotations.

•Design and build the trigger system that links GitLab events and third-party events to AI-powered Duo Flows.
•Contribute to the broader event platform infrastructure that powers many GitLab AI features.
•Architect for high availability and throughput while reliably processing events at scale.
•Work within GitLab’s Rails monolith while remaining open to other languages used elsewhere in the platform.
•Collaborate with teammates, product manager, and designer, and participate in Tier 2/3 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production and security issues.

•Hands-on experience with agentic systems, including building workflows that let AI agents take autonomous action.
•Strong written communication skills for working asynchronously in a remote, globally distributed team.
