Job Summary

Lead mechanical design efforts for advanced turbojet and turbofan propulsion systems, optimizing static and rotating gas-turbine components for life, weight, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Develop designs for critical parts such as disks, shafts, bearing systems, stationary structures, externals, and accessory gearbox components. Apply GD&T, produce engineering drawings, perform FEA-based integrity assessments, run FMECA/FRACAS activities, and provide technical mentoring and design governance across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and optimize gas-turbine static and rotating systems for life, weight, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
•Develop mechanical designs for critical components including disks, shafts, couplings, bearing systems, and stationary structures.
•Support engine externals and accessories (e.g., fuel pumps, oil pumps, bleed-line systems) and accessory gearbox/shaft power off-take design and sizing.
•Apply GD&T and define assembly and manufacturing requirements; prepare detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing guidelines.
•Conduct mechanical integrity assessments (including FEA/lower-order analysis), run FMECA/FRACAS activities, and define verification/testing and risk mitigation actions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
•Approximately 5–15+ years of relevant gas-turbine/mechanical design experience depending on Senior/Lead/Principal level.
•Strong background in gas-turbine propulsion, mechanical design, structural integrity, and heat transfer.
•Experience with gas-turbine externals/accessories and components such as disks, shafts, couplings, bearings, and accessory gearboxes.
•Proficiency with CAD tools (Siemens NX, SolidWorks or equivalent) and familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill or similar), plus GD&T, engineering drawings, and FEA/simulation methods.
