Job Summary

Lead day-to-day operations at the Metcalfe plant in Ottawa, ensuring safety, productivity, and product quality. Coach and develop hourly employees, supervise maintenance and preventive maintenance activities, run routine inspections, and manage schedules, discipline standards, and incident reporting. Facilitate daily/weekly meetings, support inventory counts and supplier communications, and participate in continuous improvement while responding to equipment or staffing emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise hourly employees and mobilize the plant team to ensure smooth operations.
•Ensure occupational health and safety compliance, including OHS inspections and participation in OHS activities.
•Coordinate equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance activities, and participate in maintenance activities.
•Ensure product quality through routine inspections and maintain cleanliness/tidying of areas.
•Manage daily/weekly meetings, schedules/hours tracking, incident reports, and respond to emergency situations (e.g., machine breakdown).

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or diploma in a relevant technical field.
•Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

•Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and of, or prior experience with, an ERP system.
