Job Summary

Sample and analyze hazardous and non-hazardous waste samples under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor and/or Laboratory Manager. Follow the facility Waste Analysis Plan and Quality Manual to perform timely, accurate testing, conduct required QC checks, and maintain laboratory cleanliness. Execute BTU, GC, and metals analyses using specified lab instruments, complete chain-of-custody and logbooks, support inventory monitoring, and attend required training.

Key Responsibilities

•Promote and follow plant safety guidelines and required safety rules, including use of PPE and equipment.
•Sample and analyze hazardous and non-hazardous waste samples per the Waste Analysis Plan, ensuring timely and accurate results.
•Perform required QC control checks (e.g., calibrations, standardizations, duplicates, check standards, matrix spikes, method blanks) for listed instruments.
•Complete and maintain documentation such as log-in books, analytical sheets/Ready-to-Burn sheets, chain-of-custody forms, and appropriate logbooks.
•Monitor laboratory supply inventory, alert purchasing when levels are low, and attend required training classes.

Key Requirements

•2-year degree in Chemistry, Math, or a related field (preferred).
•Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting (preferred).
•Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, and signs.
•Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
•Ability to follow testing procedures and guidelines, including those referenced by ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, EPA, and DOT specs.
