Job Summary

Senior Cloud Software Engineer on Twilio’s Edge Services team, designing scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure and driving platform strategy. You’ll own reliability for billions of weekly requests, evolve IaC patterns with Terraform, mentor engineers, and collaborate across Product & Engineering to optimize APIs and infrastructure for low latency, high uptime, and self-service tooling.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure and drive long-term platform strategy.
•Own the reliability of services handling billions of weekly requests, setting the standard for operational best practices and incident response.
•Drive the evolution of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns using Terraform across environments, with a self-service approach to minimize TOIL.
•Continuously optimize pipelines, releases, and deliveries to balance rapid deployment with rigorous safety checks.
•Mentor L1/L2 engineers, participate in code reviews, design docs, and pair programming to foster technical excellence.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in Cloud, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with deep proficiency in Python, Java, Go or another language of choice
•Architectural depth with proven AWS cloud-native solutions (CloudFront, multitenancies, DNS, caching, WAF, Lambda, S3) at scale
•IaC expert with Terraform, including managing state across environments
•System reliability expertise with SLIs/SLOs, monitoring (Datadog, Grafana, Athena) and incident response
•Strong background in microservices architecture, including traffic routing, rate limiting, and service discovery
