Key Responsibilities

  • •Scale and improve shared infrastructure and platform systems supporting Kombo’s HR tech API layer.
  • •Investigate and fix performance bottlenecks in applications and databases using profiling, tracing, and query analysis.
  • •Design and roll out safe, high-risk migrations and infrastructure changes with observability, rollback, and failure-mode planning.
  • •Improve CI and development workflows and enhance local developer tooling to speed engineering execution.
  • •Evolve on-call/incident response processes and help product engineering teams operate infrastructure more independently over time.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong backend engineering fundamentals with experience building production services, APIs, and database-backed systems.
  • •A methodical approach to debugging complex issues to identify root causes.
  • •Diligence to make high-risk changes safely, including failure-mode thinking, observability, and rollback.
  • •Experience owning ambiguous technical problems and communicating clearly without close management.
  • •Curiosity and ability to learn unfamiliar parts of a system quickly.
