Key Responsibilities

  • •Chair the Architecture Board and own the decision register for open architecture decisions.
  • •Run the Architecture Decision Record (ADR) gate that workstreams must pass before build.
  • •Provide standing architecture authority over foundational platform programs spanning data, identity, events, and core services.
  • •Set target-state architecture connecting the legacy platform, the new platform, and the migration path.
  • •Pressure-test designs with senior engineers and represent architecture to executive leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •15+ years in software engineering with experience as the accountable architect for a platform transformation or re-platforming at scale.
  • •Experience shaping consequential decisions in event-driven architecture, service decomposition, and data/identity modeling.
  • •Experience with build-versus-buy decisions and the ability to explain decisions you got wrong and what you changed.
  • •Clear communication through architecture decision records (ADRs), RFCs, and assessments.
  • •Hands-on ability to review designs/diffs and exert architecture authority through decision rights rather than headcount.
