Job Summary

Lead the architecture and engineering practices behind Firefly Enterprise’s InDesign API and InDesign Server platform on Firefly Services. Drive the migration of InDesign Server customers and partners onto the API platform, defining scalable API contracts, async workflows, and platform reliability/observability. Work across customer-facing surfaces, APIs, and server infrastructure—building and mentoring engineers while delivering end-to-end initiatives for high-volume enterprise document generation.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the architecture of the InDesign API and InDesign Server platform, including orchestration, rendering pipelines, and render-fleet scaling.
•Lead technical strategy to migrate InDesign Server customers and partners onto the API platform, closing capability and performance gaps.
•Build and consume RESTful APIs and web services for internal and external integrations at scale.
•Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using established frameworks (e.g., Java/Spring Boot).
•Set engineering direction for reliability and observability, guide initiatives end-to-end, and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical reviews.

Key Requirements

•10–15 years of industry experience with deep enterprise-scale platform expertise and strong architectural ownership.
•Strong proficiency in enterprise frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot, Java EE, or equivalent.
•Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) across compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
•Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
•Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases and practical experience supporting production systems (monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response).
