Job Summary

Support electrical studies and system protection work within an ESSP team, applying power system fundamentals to protective relaying, arc flash analysis, NERC compliance, and protection scheme development. Contribute to power system planning studies (steady-state, stability, contingency and voltage analysis) and design studies such as grounding, insulation coordination, transient simulation, and power quality. Deliver accurate technical reports, coordinate field/site work and permitting, and assist technical staff and project managers with risk identification.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform protective relaying work including analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme/criteria development, relay settings, NERC compliance, and arc flash analysis.
•Conduct power system planning studies such as steady-state real/reactive power flow, outage contingencies, generation interconnect feasibility, and voltage stability and dynamic stability analysis.
•Support design studies for grounding, corona, insulation coordination, transient (time-domain) simulation, and power quality assessment.
•Write technical reports summarizing findings and conclusions with accurate calculations and documentation.
•Assist technical staff and project managers with risk identification, work plan preparation, field/site coordination, and permitting.

Key Requirements

•BSEE (or equivalent) degree from an ABET-accredited university.
•3 to 5 years of industry experience performing electrical design or device configuration in relevant technical areas.
•Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and their application to permitting and project work issues.
•Analytical mindset and sound judgment for evaluating situations and making decisions.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
