Key Responsibilities

  • •Build, lead, and grow a cross-disciplinary Launcher & Ground Segment engineering team spanning mechanical, electrical, and software.
  • •Drive architecture and implementation for launch structures, transport/handling, launch power, electronics/harness, launch control software, and interfaces into command-and-control.
  • •Deliver hands-on mechanical design and electronics bring-up until the team is in place.
  • •Lead cross-functional design with airframe, propulsion, flight test, and command-and-control teams; arbitrate and resolve disagreements between disciplines.
  • •Own integration, prototyping, qualification, field campaigns, and design/architecture reviews, including maintaining technical evidence for programme milestones; manage hardware suppliers to stand up the local supply base.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in mechanical or mechatronics engineering within defense, aerospace, or robotics, including at least 2 leading/coordinating engineers across more than one discipline.
  • •MSc in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering (or closely related); a strong track record building may outweigh the degree.
  • •At least one deployable mechanism taken from concept to field use.
  • •Proven experience across full system lifecycles and qualification exposure under a defense customer.
  • •Broad engineering culture (e.g., reading schematics and state machines) and clear evidence of hands-on building, including work touching the safety case.
