Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and lead the rail strategic sourcing process, including requirements planning, market analysis, RFP development, bid evaluation, provider selection, and contract negotiations and award.
  • •Execute rail strategic sourcing initiatives while managing vendor performance to align with business objectives.
  • •Ensure accurate definition of technical requirements and maintain detailed knowledge of the rail transportation market, including railcars and locomotives.
  • •Build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure strong and productive interactions throughout contracts and agreements.
  • •Align commercial strategy with internal business stakeholders, and monitor KPIs for compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement/cost leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 8 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, and/or other purchasing-related experience, with knowledge of the rail industry.
  • •A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • •Strong negotiating skills, good judgment, and results orientation.
  • •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization, both written and oral.
  • •Commercial acumen and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapid decision-making and immediate business impact.
