Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform preventive maintenance, installation, commissioning, testing, repairs and troubleshooting on equipment including 480V through 230kV switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, reclosers, cooling fans, and substation systems.
  • •Use testing equipment such as transformer turns ratio, insulation resistance, and dielectric testers; install and maintain high voltage cables and perform splicing, terminations, and testing; repair electrical/mechanical components of oil circuit breakers.
  • •Perform commissioning tests on new equipment and coordinate final acceptance with Power Distribution Department; identify exceptions if any.
  • •Diagnose and locate equipment, system, and cable faults through tests and analysis; install, repair, and maintain power distribution equipment including line wash equipment, lifts, and digger-derricks.
  • •Coordinate and schedule power outages with affected organizations; acquire clearances, perform switching, receive work permits, and restore equipment to service.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma/industrial degree in electrical field; B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • •Minimum of 12 years of experience in power system construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation with emphasis on transmission and distribution.
  • •Preferably certified for Basic Life Support/FA, Fire Protection, Work Permit Receiver, cable splicing & potential test.
  • •Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • •Thorough knowledge of equipment and underground cable safety requirements including U.S. & Saudi Electrical Codes; ability to read work orders, permits, manuals and diagrams; effective communication with team.
