Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform assigned testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
  • •Conduct on-site hands-on protective relay testing using relay test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150.
  • •Document site activities using field forms, digital data tools, and mobile applications, including maintaining logs, photo documentation, and label entries.
  • •Perform equipment cleaning, inventory control, and calibration as directed, and support the Project Lead or Field Supervisor.
  • •Participate in daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, escalating complex technical problems or unexpected field conditions.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical testing industry, including medium/high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Some experience on transmission, generation, and distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, and GE families) and protective schemes.
  • •Technical skills with protective relays including relay calibration using Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150, control scheme testing, and microprocessor relay settings uploads.
  • •Intermediate experience with electrical field testing standards and procedures (NETA, IEEE, NFPA) and familiarity with projects spanning 15 kV to 500 kV.
