Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide clinical oversight to ensure testing is properly performed and regulatory standards are met, delivering accurate and reliable patient results.
  • •Review, approve, and sign out reports for molecular/cytogenetic and/or oncologic results across NIPT, carrier screening, PGD/PGS, products of conception, and rare disease testing.
  • •Oversee review and interpretation of genetic and CNV variant data using NGS and microarray results in context of medical literature, variant databases, and patient demographic data.
  • •Provide clinical and technical support to genetic counselors and other laboratory personnel; set laboratory testing and analytic performance standards.
  • •Manage a team, mentor and develop personnel, and (as Technical Supervisor, when applicable) oversee method selection/verification, PT enrollment and reporting, quality assessment/QC, corrective actions, and competency monitoring.

Key Requirements

  • •MD/DO and/or PhD in genetics or a related field.
  • •Current California license/eligibility as a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist.
  • •ABMGG board-certified/eligible in Clinical Cytogenetics and/or Molecular Genetics.
  • •2+ years of experience in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory analyzing, interpreting, and reporting clinical genetic/genomic data.
  • •Management experience required; knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and California/New York state regulations.
