Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise internal clients on risks and operational controls for the development, collection, use, transfer, and governance of personal data, including privacy, online safety, and cybersecurity.
  • •Improve privacy program maturity and incident readiness by managing privacy resourcing, vendor support, and outside counsel engagement; reduce privacy risk and enable compliant product launches.
  • •Draft and update privacy program policies and standards, including public-facing and internal terms (e.g., terms of use/sale and consumer acceptable use/moderation policies).
  • •Oversee preparation of Data Protection Impact Assessments and other risk assessments/audits; conduct business risk assessments and implement mitigation and corrective action plans.
  • •Serve as legal lead for security incident response, advise on privacy regulatory/contractual compliance across marketing and advertising subscriptions data flows, and act as point of contact for data protection authorities and regulatory inquiries.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor required and must be a member of the New York Bar.
  • •15+ years of experience in US and international data privacy and protection, including negotiating data privacy-related agreements and supporting cybersecurity.
  • •5+ years of experience managing people and effectively managing cross-functional relationships and competing priorities.
  • •5+ years of previous in-house experience.
  • •Experience advising on online safety and sensitive data privacy regulations, including privacy laws affecting health data in ad tech and biometric privacy.
