Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the live view of energy availability risk and need by month/hour where it matters, keeping contracted/available/committed energy and capacity current as deals and plans change.
  • •Serve as the operational counterpart to LSEs, QSEs, scheduling coordinators, and retail/wholesale suppliers in ISO/RTOs and international power markets, including participation in utility/ISO programs.
  • •Predict and track curtailment and manage shortage pricing/reliability events, coordinating load response with site operations and workload planning and tracking obligations and performance/cost.
  • •Oversee contracted/tariff-based load flexibility (curtailment, demand response, flexible interconnection, non-firm commitments) and define site-level playbooks aligned with what the workload plan supports.
  • •Determine gas scheduling needs and build the gas scheduling strategy (nominations, hub/index pricing, pipeline constraints), including handling gas-plant outages and energy-side forecasting inputs.

Salary: USD 320,000 - 405,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in energy markets, power scheduling, energy procurement, or utility/retail energy operations, including hands-on scheduling and settlement review in ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, MISO, or similar markets.
  • •Experience working with LSE/QSE scheduling coordinators, retail energy providers, or load-management desks, with knowledge of day-ahead and real-time scheduling, settlements, and curtailment/demand-response programs.
  • •Fluency reading ESAs, PPAs, and utility large-load interconnection/service agreements to operate scheduling, availability, curtailment, and pricing terms and model exposure.
  • •Ability to predict curtailment for a large load and navigate shortage pricing and reliability events (ISO scarcity pricing, emergency procedures, conservation calls).
  • •Understand gas scheduling (nominations, hub pricing, pipeline capacity/constraints) and how gas-fired plant outages affect served load.
