Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee and perform inspection duties across Private Streets, Article 3(4c), and licensed sites.
  • •Inspect materials, construction methods and site layout (including signing and lining) to ensure compliance with drawings and Construction Regulations.
  • •Conduct inspections for bond reductions and preliminary adoption, including producing snagging lists and recommendations.
  • •Liaise with developers/builders, appointed engineers, and Utilities (NIW), including attending site meetings and notifying relevant parties of potential problems.
  • •Maintain inspection records/files, update the backlog sites spreadsheet and the Private Streets Database, and collate paperwork for bond reductions and adoptions.

Key Requirements

  • •Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • •Level 4 (or above) qualification in a STEM subject, or equivalent engineering technician experience.
  • •Attained or working towards professional qualifications such as EngTech, with demonstrable progress.
  • •Understanding of highway engineering principles, standards and procedures, and ability to apply this to small-scale or moderately complex projects.
  • •Experience handling data with MS Excel and/or other data-based systems.
