Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist the Mechanic Shop Manager in managing and overseeing daily mechanic shop operations to meet Manheim standards and daily goals.
  • •Ensure vehicles are repaired and painted to meet quality and customer/account requirements, including estimates for collision/lot/transport damage.
  • •Supervise and develop shop staff: recruit, train, monitor performance, conduct appraisals, and direct employees for quality and accuracy.
  • •Oversee equipment and shop operations, including purchasing supplies, maintaining/protecting equipment, and managing sublet vendor partnerships.
  • •Review work volumes and staffing levels, measure process efficiency/effectiveness, implement improvement strategies, enforce policies, and comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • •2–5 years of vehicle reconditioning mechanical shop experience.
  • •Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (preferred).
  • •Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record, including ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
