Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections with follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair diesel vehicle systems including electrical, brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and road test defective equipment; use tools and reasoning to identify malfunctions and determine accurate, relevant information for solutions.
  • •Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including reconciliation, obtaining parts from approved vendors, and maintaining vehicle readiness with safety checks.
  • •Document work on Repair Orders (RO) by uploading photos and findings via the company’s TRAIT application, complete DOT forms, and communicate with management for approvals and PO numbers.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED plus 5 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination such as additional certification/degree with 3 years, or 7 years experience).
  • •Ability to comply with DOT/FMCSA requirements, including passing a DOT-regulated background screening and DOT physical prior to employment (or submitting a valid DOT medical card meeting the specified remaining validity).
  • •Current valid DOT medical card requirements and must be at least 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations.
  • •Valid state-of-residence driver’s license, ability to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File, and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
  • •Hold required certifications or obtain within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 (preferred OEM training/certifications).
