Job Summary

Lead the technical delivery of the orchestration layer powering Hootsuite’s Analytics MCP. Own routing infrastructure, agent infrastructure, and data pipelines that enable reliable AI-driven analysis at scale. Set architecture direction and engineering standards, guide disciplined execution, and ensure operational reliability, scalability, quality, and observability. Partner with AI Context & Integration and AI Data Architecture to deliver a coherent platform across the context layer, semantic layer, and downstream agent workflows.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and delivery of the orchestration layer connecting the Analytics MCP platform across complex surfaces, including query execution, federated data access, and multi-step agent workflows.
•Develop and align technical recommendations for platform and orchestration architecture evolution, guiding disciplined execution within approved standards.
•Own operational reliability, scalability, quality, and observability for core Analytics MCP components; lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and maintain code-quality through review and operational discipline.
•Set and uphold standards for data pipelines for agent and programmatic consumption, ensuring quality, documentation, testing, observability, and dependability at the source.
•Develop internal tooling and agents that improve AI engineering workflows (build, deployment, monitoring, diagnostics, operational support) and coach team members through 1:1s and code review.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 98,400 - 137,800

Key Requirements

•8+ years of hands-on software, data, or AI platform engineering experience with influence on system design and delivery outcomes.
•Experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team, including setting technical direction and owning code review and accountability for delivery.
•Strong hands-on programming capability across backend services, APIs, data pipelines, or platform infrastructure for production-ready systems.
•Experience building or operating orchestration across systems, including multi-step coordination, federated access, external integrations, or agent workflow orchestration.
•Working knowledge of AI and LLM-based systems and how agents, MCP context interfaces, and orchestration layers work together to produce reliable outputs.
