Job Summary

Provide general labor for a Cobb poultry grandparent operation by assisting contract shavings and catch crews, vaccinating and performing blood pull and lab sampling, and distributing insecticides/pesticides per weekly schedules. Load modules and birds using a forklift, clean and disinfect vehicles/modules/equipment, and follow all biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines. Role includes physical lifting and PPE compliance in hot, wet, dusty environments.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist contract shavings crew and observe contract catch crew to support animal welfare guideline compliance.
•Place, spray vaccinate, and perform lab sampling on chick boxes and birds at multiple ages per schedule.
•Distribute insecticides/pesticides per weekly schedule by reading and writing to follow instructions.
•Load modules and birds using a forklift to move birds from pullet to hen farm, and clean/disinfect modules, vehicles, and equipment.
•Support other assigned duties such as euthanizing weak/ill birds per policy and routine lab sampling or QA facility cleaning.

Key Requirements

•Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).
•Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved to drive a company vehicle.
•Must be willing and able to follow the biosecurity and animal welfare requirements for a biosecure jobsite, including showering and changing before entry.
•Must be able to read and write to follow weekly schedules for distributing insecticides/pesticides.
•Must be able to obtain forklift certification and safely perform physical tasks including lifting chick boxes and handling birds.
