Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead development and assurance of Fire & Life Safety design strategies for complex buildings, infrastructure, public realm, transport interfaces, and large-scale masterplanned developments.
  • •Provide senior FLS authority direction on code compliance, design adequacy, fire strategy, life safety risk, and buildability.
  • •Review and challenge FLS submissions, drawings, reports, and calculations prepared by consultants to resolve issues early with robust engineering solutions.
  • •Develop and assess FLS solutions for complex/non-standard designs, including alternative solutions, smoke control, evacuation, compartmentation, and firefighting access/provisions.
  • •Advise on applying Saudi Building Code and Saudi Civil Defence requirements alongside NFPA and international best practice, coordinating integration across architects, MEP, infrastructure, mobility, operations, and delivery teams.

Key Requirements

  • •8–15 years’ experience in Fire & Life Safety engineering and design across large-scale mixed-use, infrastructure, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, or giga-project developments.
  • •Experience developing, reviewing, and coordinating FLS strategies across all project stages (masterplanning through construction support).
  • •Strong engineering expertise in means of egress, smoke management, firefighting access, fire water infrastructure, fire alarm/suppression systems, and passive fire protection systems.
  • •Experience with performance-based fire engineering including alternative solutions, smoke modelling, evacuation analysis, and complex code compliance assessments.
  • •Strong understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC), NFPA standards, IBC/IFC, and Saudi Civil Defence requirements (degree in Fire Engineering preferred; other engineering degrees may be acceptable).
