Job Summary

Design and develop mechanical systems for Electronic Warfare airborne platforms, specializing in RF receiver subsystems and digital processor hardware. Work across the product development lifecycle—detailed design, thermal/structural analysis, electronics packaging integration, manufacturing support, and hardware testing. You may lead programs as a REA/ITPL, coordinate with engineering disciplines and internal customers, and oversee junior engineers, with occasional travel to facilities and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

•Design RF systems for challenging thermal and high vibration environments.
•Lead programs as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (ITPL), including liaison support and junior engineer oversight.
•Collaborate on electronics packaging design, including thermal/structural design and analysis, component installation processes, RF isolation mechanical design, and environmental test methods.
•Integrate and support mechanical development and enhancements across multiple programs in Goleta, California.
•Travel occasionally to other facilities, suppliers, or customer sites.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years).
•Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing/documentation standards.
•Mechanical engineering experience across the product development lifecycle, including detailed design, packaging, manufacturing support, hardware integration, and testing.
•Experience with solid modeling and creating/documenting mechanical designs in CREO or similar tools.
