Job Summary

Plan, layout, fabricate, and assemble developmental parts, missile assemblies, and tools using manual machining with minimal supervision. Set up and operate conventional tool room equipment (mills, lathes, grinders), perform offline programming with Mastercam/conversational software, and inspect work using standard inspection equipment while applying GD&T. Work from blueprints, produce parts from standard to exotic materials, and meet shift and practical test requirements while maintaining required clearances.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan, layout, fabricate, and assemble developmental type parts and assemblies, including test equipment, tools, gauges, molds, dies, and fixtures.
•Set up and operate manual machines using machining practices and tooling/set-ups with minimal direct supervision.
•Perform offline programming using Master Cam/conversational software to set up and fabricate complex precision developmental parts.
•Apply advanced mathematical problem-solving skills and use GD&T to maintain part conformance.
•Use standard inspection equipment (SIE) to maintain tolerances and produce parts from standard to exotic materials.

Key Requirements

•Six years of recent experience in a Tool & Die or Journeyman Machinist occupation.
•Ability to setup and operate conventional tool room machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
•Ability to work from blueprints.
•High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED), or an AAS in Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent technical education).
•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance and an ATF clearance prior to/after start date.
