Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish and deliver safety engineering activities using systems integration and systems engineering techniques.
  • •Sustain Air product safety integrity through production challenge and review of design, certification, and assurance evidence in line with market legislation and regulatory obligations.
  • •Validate and challenge initial evidence using professional judgement, including involvement in design and phase review assessments and audit/assurance activities.
  • •Investigate issues through root cause analysis and recovery actions, advising potential design changes (including using technical writing).
  • •Exploit learning across Air and other BAE Systems units, customers, and suppliers to support risk mitigation and continuous improvement processes.

Salary: GBP 51,772 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in a STEM discipline with equivalent relevant engineering experience.
  • •Proven experience in a Safety Engineering role across the product lifecycle.
  • •Strong requirements engineering, configuration control, and safety engineering tools experience (e.g., Fault Tree Analysis, Goal Structured Notation).
  • •Experience supporting qualification and certification activities within safety-critical industries.
  • •Working knowledge of safety engineering principles and applicable regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., EASA, EMAR, UK MRP; Def-Stan 00-56, IEC61508).
