Job Summary

Support electrical engineering teams on substation design work during the Summer/Fall 2026 semesters. Under guidance from experienced engineers, contribute to one-line diagrams, schematics, SCADA and communications, layouts, grounding and structural plans, lightning protection, yard lighting, and bills of materials. Perform design calculations using industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, and NESC, assist with QA/QC checks, and may join site visits while completing assigned training.

Key Responsibilities

•Support electrical engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
•Learn and apply basic Electrical Engineering principles in substation design.
•Participate in creating substation design components, including diagrams, drawings, SCADA/communications, layouts, grounding, foundation/structural plans, and bills of materials.
•Perform design calculations using industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, and NESC.
•Assist senior engineers with QA/QC design checks and may participate in site visits.

Key Requirements

•Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering (or related) undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.
•Must be 18 or older.
•Demonstrated interest in consulting engineering and/or the electric utility industry, with a strong desire to advance related skills.
•Competent interpersonal and communication skills when working with technical and non-technical audiences.
•Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
