Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and document canonical models and metric definitions via a governed semantic layer (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with clear contracts between Engineering and BI consumers.
  • •Build a self-serve enablement layer with consistent BI primitives and row/column-level security so teams can create dashboards without compromising compliance.
  • •Own analytics and tracking governance: global event taxonomy, client/server-side event strategy, synchronization across CRMs/marketing platforms, and GDPR consent flows by design.
  • •Ensure platform reliability, safety, and cost controls using tested/versioned transformations, monitoring for freshness/failures/usage, and ingestion patterns (read replicas, CDC, batch).
  • •Design guardrails and an authorization layer for AI tooling that queries the warehouse directly, enabling safe data access via curated MCPs.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years as a Data, Analytics or Platform Engineer, with staff/lead exposure expected.
  • •Hands-on modern data stack expertise: BigQuery (or Snowflake/Redshift), dbt or equivalent, advanced SQL and data modeling, plus Python for pipelines.
  • •Shipped production event tracking end to end, including taxonomy, client/server events, attribution, and GDPR-compliant opt-out propagation downstream.
  • •Comfortable with ingestion and governance patterns (Fivetran/Airbyte/CDC, reverse-ETL tools, IAM with row- and column-level security, PII tagging).
  • •Built and owned a semantic/metrics layer and can arbitrate metric definitions with Finance, Ops, and Growth.
