Key Responsibilities

  • •Own technical operation and maintenance of P25 system subsystems for Victorian Metropolitan Mobile Radio (MMR) and Regional Mobile Radio (RMR).
  • •Provide RF engineering and upgrade support for radio network systems, microwave links, and related connectivity to telecommunications service providers.
  • •Act as a technical escalation point for NOC staff and field engineers when necessary.
  • •Create and implement change/problem management, knowledge management, and test procedures for routine maintenance; maintain accurate as-built documentation.
  • •Participate in standby roster and 24x7 on-call operations; support troubleshooting through RF coverage prediction/measurement, and conduct network testing, integration, and certification.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary qualifications in engineering.
  • •Extensive telecommunications experience specializing in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and microwave transmission propagation.
  • •Digital LMR system experience, such as Motorola P25.
  • •Experience using propagation prediction tools and verifying results in real-world settings.
  • •Ability to perform spectrum measurements and analysis to identify interference, and experience with multi-network roaming/mobility thresholds (including WiFi roaming).
