Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the dedicated supplier quality focal for Rocket Motor Systems, providing single-point accountability for supplier quality across the motor bill of materials.
  • •Lead immediate containment and triage for supplier quality escapes, nonconformances, and delivery disruptions, engaging SQE specialists when deeper expertise is needed.
  • •Own the supplier corrective action lifecycle (SCAR issuance through root cause verification and effectiveness confirmation) and present status, trends, and closure rates monthly to the Corrective Action Board.
  • •Develop and maintain supplier quality development plans for critical suppliers, identifying capability gaps and investments to transition to high-rate production readiness.
  • •Conduct supplier site visits, audit supplier quality management systems against AS9100 and customer flowdown requirements, and drive supplier qualification (AS9102, PPAP, MSA, process capability studies).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • •5+ years of supplier quality engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or propulsion manufacturing, including supplier development, auditing, and corrective action management.
  • •Experience scaling supplier quality from development/prototype through LRIP to full-rate production with the required process controls at each transition.
  • •Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and experience conducting or leading supplier audits (AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is a plus).
  • •Proficiency with AS9102, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and measurement systems analysis (MSA), plus ability to lead root cause investigations and corrective actions through verified effectiveness.
